NASCAR SPEEDPARK VAUGHAN MILLS RAISES $1,000 FOR JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF CENTRAL ONTARIO DURING NASCAR SPEEDPARK DAY
December 11, 2006, Vaughan, Ontario
Representatives from NASCAR SpeedPark today announced they raised $1,000 for Junior Achievement of Central Ontario during their inaugural NASCAR SpeedPark Day event held in September 2006.
Offering a variety of family activities, NASCAR SpeedPark Day featured a driver look-a-like contest, a corn-on-the-cob eating contest, face painting and photo opportunities with NASCAR SpeedPark's official mascot, Sparkie the Sparkplug. Guests were also invited to visit the NASCAR SpeedPark Day Pumpkin Patch where they could choose a pumpkin to decorate and take home as a NASCAR SpeedPark Day souvenir. A portion of the proceeds raised from this family friendly event were donated to Junior Achievement of Central Ontario.
"Our inaugural NASCAR SpeedPark Day was a great success for both NASCAR SpeedPark as well as Junior Achievement of Canada," said Domenic Buttiglieri, general manager of NASCAR SpeedPark Vaughan Mills. "As an ongoing goal, we at NASCAR SpeedPark aim to help community organizations through a variety of fundraising endeavors. I look forward to next year's NASCAR SpeedPark Day to be even bigger as NASCAR SpeedPark continues to show its support for the Vaughan and Toronto communities."
"We were honoured to partner with such a fantastic family attraction such as NASCAR SpeedPark ," said Caterina Magisano, director of marketing and development for Junior Achievement of Central Ontario. "Our goal is to provide hands on experiences which help young people understand the economics of life.
