NASCAR SPEEDPARK MYRTLE BEACH RAISES $1,000 FOR JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF COASTAL SOUTH CAROLINA DURING NASCAR SPEEDPARK DAY

December 12, 2006, Myrtle Beach, S.C

Representatives from NASCAR SpeedPark today announced they raised $1,000 for Junior Achievement of Coastal South Carolina during their inaugural NASCAR SpeedPark Day event held in September 2006.

Offering a variety of family activities, NASCAR SpeedPark Day featured a driver look-a-like contest, a corn-on-the-cob eating contest, face painting and photo opportunities with NASCAR SpeedPark's official mascot, Sparkie the Sparkplug. Guests were also invited to visit the NASCAR SpeedPark Day Pumpkin Patch where they could chose a pumpkin to decorate and take home as a NASCAR SpeedPark Day souvenir. A portion of the proceeds raised from this family friendly event were donated to the Junior Achievement of Coastal South Carolina.

"Our inaugural NASCAR SpeedPark Day was a great success for both NASCAR SpeedPark as well as the Junior Achievement of Coastal South Carolina," said Mark Ferris, general manager of NASCAR SpeedPark Myrtle Beach. "As an ongoing goal, we at NASCAR SpeedPark aim to help community organizations through a variety of fundraising endeavors. I look forward to next year's NASCAR SpeedPark Day to be even bigger as NASCAR SpeedPark continues to show its support for the Myrtle Beach community."

"We were honored to partner with such a fantastic family attraction such as NASCAR SpeedPark ," said Mike Campi, president for Junior Achievement of Coastal South Carolina. "Our goal is to instill positive values in children from around the world. Promoting family activity and fun through a fall festival event was an excellent promotion and we look forward to working with NASCAR SpeedPark again in the future."
