NASCAR&reg; SpeedPark&#8482; Vaughan Mills, the “official family fun park of NASCAR&reg;”, has been named the official sponsor of the Mayor’s Race at the annual Great Maple Cart Derby scheduled for Saturday, September 15 at _______ on Major Mackenzie Drive.
<P>

The Great Maple Cart Derby is an annual event designed for children eight to 15 years-of-age. During the event, participants race down Major Mackenzie Drive, located in __________, in carts they have built themselves. First, second and third place awards are given as well as a “Best Design” award, which is voted on by the participants’ peers.  
<P>

New for 2007, the Great Maple Cart Derby has added the Mayor’s Race. During this race, community representatives will challenge Derby sponsors to a race down Mackenzie Drive in adult size carts similar to the ones used by children participants. Confirmed community representatives to date include Toronto Mayor Linda Jackson and York Regional Police Superintendent Tony Cusimano.

“The Great Maple Cart Derby is always a fun event,” said Domenic Buttiglieri, general manager of NASCAR&reg; SpeedPark&#8482; Vaughan Mills. “The Mayor’s Race is a great event as it will unite the community with their leaders in a fun and competitive way.
